If your devotion does not stand by you when you seek to revere reflections of God in the body-mirrors that move around you, when you peer into and prostrate before these images of God that parade before you wherever you cast your eyes, how can you claim to be devoted to God? Without steady faith in and sincere practice of this sadhana, if you simply congregate, prepare and share prasadams on every conceivable occasion, or even sing and extol God, I must say that your efforts are all in vain! Expand your hearts. Enlarge your vision. Enlarge the circle of kinship and take more and more of your fellow beings into the tabernacle of your hearts. And adore them in loving worship. Wisdom is only compassion at its highest; for, through empathy you enter the heart of another and understand him through and through. Gedanke für den Tag aus Prasanthi Nilayam vom 13. Oktober 2022

Wenn eure Hingabe nicht zu euch steht, wenn ihr versucht, die Widerspiegelungen Gottes in den Körperspiegeln zu verehren, die sich um euch herum bewegen, wenn ihr in diese Bilder Gottes hineinschaut und euch vor ihnen niederwerft, die sich vor euch auftürmen, wohin auch immer ihr eure Blicke richtet, wie könnt ihr dann behaupten, Gott ergeben zu sein? Wenn ihr nicht fest an dieses Sadhana glaubt und es aufrichtig praktiziert, wenn ihr euch einfach nur versammelt, bei jeder nur denkbaren Gelegenheit Prasadams zubereitet und teilt oder sogar singt und Gott preist, muss ich sagen, dass alle eure Bemühungen vergeblich sind! Weitet eure Herzen aus. Erweitert eure Sichtweise. Erweitert den Kreis der Verwandtschaft und nehmt mehr und mehr eurer Mitmenschen in das Tabernakel eures Herzens auf. Und betet sie in liebevoller Anbetung an. Weisheit ist nur Mitgefühl in seiner höchsten Ausprägung; denn durch Einfühlungsvermögen dringt ihr in das Herz des anderen ein und versteht ihn durch und durch. In dieser Vielfalt der Rollen die Einheit zu finden, ist wahre Weisheit!
