Always try to put yourselves in the position of the other and judge your actions against that background. Then you will not be wrong. Be pure in word and deed, and keep impure thoughts away. I am in every one of you and so, I become aware of your slightest wave of thought. When the clothes become dirty, you have to give them for wash. When your mind is soiled, you must be born again, for the cleansing operations. The dhobi beats the cloth on the hard stone and draws over it the hot iron to straighten the folds. So too, you will have to pass through a train of travail to become fit to approach God. See Me as the resident in everyone; give them all the help you can, all the service they need; do not withhold the sweet word, the supporting hand, the assuring smile, the comforting company, and the consoling conversation. – Divine Discourse, Oct 11, 1969.

Versucht immer, euch in die Lage des anderen zu versetzen und eure Handlungen vor diesem Hintergrund zu beurteilen. Dann werdet ihr nicht falsch liegen. Seid rein in Wort und Tat und haltet unreine Gedanken fern. Ich bin in jedem von euch und so werde ich mir eurer geringsten Gedankenwelle bewusst. Wenn die Kleidung schmutzig wird, muss man sie zum Waschen geben. Wenn euer Geist beschmutzt ist, müsst ihr wiedergeboren werden, um euch zu reinigen. Der Wäscher schlägt das Tuch auf den harten Stein und zieht das heiße Eisen darüber, um die Falten zu glätten. So müsst auch ihr eine Reihe von Mühen durchlaufen, um euch für die Annäherung an Gott zu qualifizieren. Seht mich als den Bewohner in allen; gebt ihnen alle Hilfe, die ihr könnt, alle Dienste, die sie benötigen; haltet das liebe Wort, die unterstützende Hand, das aufmunternde Lächeln, die tröstende Gesellschaft und das aufmunternde Gespräch nicht zurück. – Sri Sathya Sai, 11.
