Like the string for the garland, Brahman is the string that penetrates and holds together the garland of souls. Like the foundation for the building, Brahman is the foundation for the structure of creation. Note this. The string and structure are not visible; only flowers and building are evident. That does not mean that the string and structure are non-existent! In fact, they support the flowers and the building. Well, you can know of their existence and their value by little effort or reasoning. If you do not take that trouble, they escape your notice! Reason, examine, and you will discover that it is the string that holds the flowers together and there is a foundation hidden in the earth! Do not be misled by the thing being contained (adheya) into denying the holder, the container, the basis, the support (adhara). If you deny it, you miss the truth and hold on to a delusion. Reason and discriminate; then believe and experience! For the seen, there is an unseen basis; to grasp the unseen, the best means is inquiry and the best proof is experience. – Ch 12, Gita Vahini

Wie die Schnur für die Girlande ist Brahman die Schnur, die die Girlande der Seelen durchdringt und zusammenhält. Wie das Fundament für das Gebäude ist Brahman das Fundament für die Struktur der Schöpfung. Beachtet dies. Die Schnur und die Struktur sind nicht sichtbar; nur Blumen und Gebäude sind offensichtlich. Das bedeutet nicht, dass die Schnur und die Struktur nicht existieren! Tatsächlich stützen sie die Blumen und das Gebäude. Nun, ihr könnt ihre Existenz und ihren Wert mit wenig Aufwand oder Nachdenken erkennen. Wenn ihr euch nicht die Mühe macht, entgehen sie euch! Denkt nach, untersucht, und ihr werdet entdecken, dass es die Schnur ist, die die Blumen zusammenhält, und dass es ein Fundament gibt, das in der Erde verborgen ist! Lasst euch nicht durch das, was enthalten ist (Adheya), dazu verleiten, den Halter, den Behälter, die Grundlage, die Stütze (Adhara) zu leugnen. Wenn ihr dies leugnet, verfehlt ihr die Wahrheit und haltet an einer Täuschung fest. Denkt nach und unterscheidet; dann glaubt und erlebt! Für das Sichtbare gibt es eine unsichtbare Grundlage; um das Unsichtbare zu erfassen, ist das beste Mittel die Untersuchung und der beste Beweis ist die Erfahrung. – Gita Vahini, Kapitel 12,
