If you have steady and resolute love, concentration becomes intense and unshakeable. Faith develops into love, and love results in concentration. Prayer begins to yield fruit under such conditions. Pray using the Name as a symbol of the Lord. Pray keeping all the waves of the mind still. Pray as the performance of a duty for your very real existence, as the only justification for your coming into the world as a human. ‘Mine’ and ‘yours’ — these attitudes are only for identification. They are not real; they are temporary. ‘His’ — that is the truth, the eternal. It is like the headmaster of a school being in temporary charge of the furniture of the school. He must hand over the items when he is transferred or retired. Treat all things with which you are endowed, just as the headmaster treats the furniture. Be always aware that the final checking-up is imminent. Wait for that moment with joy. Be ready for that event. Have your accounts up to date and the balance already calculated to be handed over. Wenn ihr beständige und entschlossene Liebe habt, wird die Konzentration intensiv und unerschütterlich. Glaube entwickelt sich zu Liebe, und Liebe führt zu Konzentration. Unter solchen Bedingungen beginnt das Gebet Früchte zu tragen. Betet, indem ihr den Namen als Symbol Gottes verwendet. Betet, indem ihr alle Wellen des Geistes stillhaltet. Betet als Erfüllung einer Pflicht für eure sehr wirkliche Existenz, als einzige Rechtfertigung dafür, dass ihr als Mensch auf die Welt gekommen seid. „Mein“ und „dein“ – diese Einstellungen dienen nur der Identifikation. Sie sind nicht wirklich; sie sind vorübergehend. „Sein“ – das ist die Wahrheit, das Ewige. Es ist, als ob der Schulleiter vorübergehend für die Möbel der Schule verantwortlich ist. Er muss die Gegenstände abgeben, wenn er versetzt oder in den Ruhestand versetzt wird. Geht mit allen Dingen, mit denen ihr ausgestattet seid, genauso um, wie der Schulleiter mit den Möbeln umgeht. Seid euch immer bewusst, dass die letzte Überprüfung unmittelbar bevorsteht. Wartet auf diesen Moment mit Freude. Seid auf dieses Ereignis vorbereitet.
