If you know the road and the goal, then you can discover whether you are progressing or not; otherwise, how can you? The goal is to enlarge your vision, your empathy, your love to the extent that God has spread His Love, His Compassion and His Grace. So, be ever watchful to see that you strive to take in more and more of God into you. Blood must circulate from head to foot; Love must circulate from high to low; only then can health and happiness be ensured for the individual and for the community. This is God’s world; all beings are His. He loves them all, as the Moon sheds coolness on all. Do not get attached to worldly things and pursuits. Be in the world but do not let the world be in you. Work disinterestedly, content to do your duty as best as you can. Wenn ihr den Weg und das Ziel kennt, könnt ihr feststellen, ob ihr Fortschritte macht oder nicht; wie könnt ihr es sonst? Das Ziel ist es, eure Vision, euer Einfühlungsvermögen und eure Liebe in dem Maße zu erweitern, wie Gott seine Liebe, sein Mitgefühl und seine Gnade verbreitet hat. Seid also stets wachsam, um zu sehen, dass ihr euch bemüht, immer mehr von Gott in euch aufzunehmen. Das Blut muss von Kopf bis Fuß zirkulieren; die Liebe muss von oben bis unten zirkulieren; nur dann können Gesundheit und Glück für den Einzelnen und für die Gemeinschaft gewährleistet werden. Dies ist Gottes Welt; alle Wesen sind sein. Er liebt sie alle, so wie der Mond Kühle auf alle ausstrahlt. Hängt euch nicht an weltliche Dinge und Bestrebungen. Seid in der Welt, aber lasst die Welt nicht in euch sein. Arbeitet uneigennützig, zufrieden damit, eure Pflicht so gut wie möglich zu erfüllen. Habt keine Wünsche, die ihr vor Gott stellen könnt, denn was immer er mit euch tut, wie immer er euch behandelt, es ist das Geschenk, das er euch am liebsten gibt! – Sri Sathya Sai, 5. März 1968.
