Atma is omnipresent. Atma is infinite. Atma is the One without a second. But, it appears as many because of the diversity of forms. Spirituality is that which recognises the One that subsumes all diversities as the Atma. Unfortunately, today there are many intellectuals who divide the One into the many. But there are very few who see the One in the many. Here is an example. We have built a mansion. In this mansion, we have one room for bath, one for cooking, another for dining and yet another for living. What is responsible for this division? There are walls in between. If you remove the walls, the mansion becomes one again. Because of the walls in between, there are different rooms with different names and forms. Similarly, the mansion of Atma is only one. Since we have created in this mansion of Atma, different rooms of the body, senses, mind, intellect, will and ego, the diversity appears. Das Selbst (atman) ist omnipräsent. Der Atman ist unendlich. Der Atman ist das Eine ohne ein Zweites. Aber er erscheint als viele, wegen der Vielfalt der Formen. Spiritualität ist, was das Eine, das alle Verschiedenheiten zusammenfasst, als den Atman anerkennt. Leider gibt es heute viele Intellektuelle, die das Eine in das Viele aufspalten. Aber es gibt nur sehr wenige, die das Eine im Vielen sehen. Hier ist ein Beispiel. Wir haben ein Haus gebaut. In diesem Haus haben wir einen Raum für das Bad, einen für das Kochen, einen für das Essen und noch einen für das Wohnen. Was ist für diese Aufteilung verantwortlich? Es sind Wände dazwischen. Wenn man die Wände entfernt, wird das Haus wieder eins. Wegen der Wände dazwischen gibt es verschiedene Räume mit verschiedenen Namen und Formen. In ähnlicher Weise ist auch das Haus des Atman nur eins. Da wir in diesem Haus des Atman verschiedene Räume des Körpers, der Sinne, des Geistes, des Intellekts, des Willens und des Ego geschaffen haben, erscheint die Vielfalt. Da diese trennende Tendenz unter der heutigen Menschheit zunimmt, besteht ein großer Bedarf an einem Guru. – Sri Sathya Sai, 14. Juli 1992.
