When you are immersed in the ananda (bliss) of the Lord, you are the master of all the lesser anandas also. When you dive in the sea, you must seek pearls; when you go to the Kalpavriksha (the wish-fulfilling tree), ask for the Highest Bliss. Do not crave for the smaller when the vastest is available, for just a little more effort. There is a natural craving in man to become one with the vast, the supreme, the limitless, for, in the cave of his heart, there resides the self-same Supreme. It is like the young calf pining for the cow. Each calf knows its mother. You may have a thousand calves and a thousand cows. Let loose the calves and each will find its own mother. So, too, you must know from where you get your native sustenance and support. They are available only with God, from whom you came! – Divine Discourse, Feb 20, 1966.

Wenn ihr in die Ananda (Glückseligkeit) Gottes eingetaucht seid, seid ihr auch der Meister aller geringeren Anandas. Wenn ihr im Meer taucht, müsst ihr nach Perlen suchen; wenn ihr zum Kalpavriksha (dem Baum der Wunscherfüllung) geht, bittet um die Höchste Glückseligkeit. Verlangt nicht nach dem Kleinsten, wenn das Größte verfügbar ist, wenn ihr euch nur ein wenig mehr anstrengt. Es gibt ein natürliches Verlangen im Menschen, mit dem Unermesslichen, dem Höchsten, dem Grenzenlosen eins zu werden, denn in der Höhle seines Herzens wohnt derselbe Höchste selbst. Es ist wie das junge Kalb, das sich nach der Kuh sehnt. Jedes Kalb kennt seine Mutter. Ihr habt vielleicht tausend Kälber und tausend Kühe. Lasst die Kälber frei und jedes wird seine eigene Mutter finden. So müsst ihr auch wissen, woher ihr euren Lebensunterhalt und eure Unterstützung bekommt.
