It is no mean achievement to get the Name of the Lord on one’s tongue at the last moment. It needs the practice of many years, based on deep-seated faith. It needs a strong character, without hatred or malice, for the thought of God cannot survive in a climate of pride and greed. And how do you know which moment is the last? Yama, the God of Death, does not give notice of his arrival to take hold of you. He is like the man with the camera taking snapshots; he does not warn, “Ready? I am clicking.” If you wish your portrait to hang on the walls of Heaven, it must be attractive; your stance, your pose, your smile must all be nice, is it not? So it is best to be ready for the click night and day, with the name ever dripping on the tongue and the glory always radiant in the mind. Es ist keine geringe Leistung, den Namen Gottes im letzten Moment auf die Zunge zu bekommen. Es bedarf einer langjährigen Übung, die auf einem tief verwurzelten Glauben beruht. Es braucht einen starken Charakter, ohne Hass und Bosheit, denn der Gedanke an Gott kann in einem Klima des Stolzes und der Gier nicht überleben. Und woher weiß man, welcher Moment der letzte ist? Yama, der Gott des Todes, kündigt sein Kommen nicht an, um sich eurer zu bemächtigen. Er ist wie der Mann mit der Kamera, der Schnappschüsse macht; er warnt nicht: „Bereit? Ich klicke.“ Wenn ihr möchtet, dass euer Porträt an den Wänden des Himmels hängt, muss es attraktiv sein; eure Haltung, eure Pose, euer Lächeln müssen schön sein, nicht wahr? Deshalb ist es am besten, Tag und Nacht für den Klick bereit zu sein, mit dem Namen auf der Zunge und der Herrlichkeit im Kopf.
