Do you love more, do you talk less, do you serve others more earnestly? These are the signs of success in Dhyana (meditation). Your progress must be authenticated by your character and behaviour. Dhyana must transmute your attitude towards beings and things; else it is a hoax. Even a boulder will, through the action of sun and rain, heat and cold, disintegrate into mud and become food for a tree. Even the hardest heart can be softened so that the Divine can sprout therein. You come to Prasanthi Nilayam as cars come to a workshop. You must go out, with new paint, with all damaged and loose bolts and nuts replaced, with the engine cleaned and reconditioned, every part spick and span, beautiful, trouble-free, in perfect trim, ready to speed on the journey that lies ahead! Every bad habit must be replaced by a good one, no trace of vice must be allowed to persist, and your heart must be drained of all egoism. This is the fruit of this pilgrimage that you must acquire. Liebt ihr mehr, redet ihr weniger, dient ihr anderen aufrichtiger? Dies sind die Zeichen des Erfolgs in Dhyana(Meditation). Euer Fortschritt muss durch euren Charakter und euer Verhalten beglaubigt werden. Dhyana muss eure Einstellung gegenüber Wesen und Dingen umwandeln, sonst ist es eine Täuschung. Selbst ein Felsbrocken wird durch die Einwirkung von Sonne und Regen, Hitze und Kälte zu Schlamm zerfallen und zur Nahrung für einen Baum werden. Selbst das härteste Herz kann erweicht werden, so dass das Göttliche darin sprießen kann. Ihr kommt nach Prasanthi Nilayam wie Autos in eine Werkstatt. Ihr müsst mit neuem Lack herauskommen, alle beschädigten und losen Schrauben und Muttern müssen ersetzt werden, der Motor muss gereinigt und überholt werden, jedes Teil muss blitzblank sein, schön, störungsfrei, in perfektem Zustand, bereit für die Reise, die vor euch liegt! Jede schlechte Angewohnheit muss durch eine gute ersetzt werden, keine Spur eines Lasters darf bestehen bleiben, und euer Herz muss von allem Egoismus befreit werden. Das ist die Frucht dieser Pilgerreise, die ihr euch aneignen müsst. Lasst dies euer Vorsatz sein! – Sri Sathya Sai, 13. Januar 1969.
